    Queen Elizabeth II arrives at Freetown in Sierra Leone.

    L/S of Freetown harbour, L/S of the Royal yacht "Britannia" sailing in. M/S of men firing 21 gun salute. C/U of two African sailors. M/S of canoes and fishing boats sailing over to the royal yacht. Various shots of dignitaries sitting down waiting to greet the Queen. C/U of the Governor-General Sir Maurice Dorman smiling as he stands on the quay with his wife. L/S of the boats in the harbour. Queen Elizabeth II comes ashore and is met by Prime Minister Sir Milton Margai. The 1st battalion of the Royal Sierra Leone regiment form Guard of honour. The Queen inspects the Guard. M/S of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, stood with the Prime Minister. C/U of dignitaries. Her car drives through the streets and people cheer.

    Various shots of Freetown with its market and busy streets. L/S of boats by the seashore with baskets of food on the beach. C/U of fish in a basket, a woman carries it on her head. Another carries coconuts. Various good shots of African women and children sat by the baskets of food, some of the women have babies strapped to their backs.

    L/S of Victoria Park full of people as the Queen drives through. She shakes hands with the mayor and walks up the red carpet whilst dignitaries watch, one lady has gold coins in her hair. The Queen meets tribal chiefs, C/U of Queen watching whilst Duke chats to one. A girls presents the Queen with a bouquet of flowers, and a boy gives the Duke a buttonhole. Good M/S of the Duke smiling and laughing.
