No title. Beginning missing. Animation featuring Sammy and his dog Sausage. Sammy falls out of the sky and Sausage catches him. They are beside a large wooden chair and a strange contraption. They look at a piece of paper and question marks fly out of their heads. C/U of what they are reading: "Electro-pep apparatus. Gives that sinking feeling! Revives. Rejuvenates. Gives Youth to the Aged - Instructions...." The line "Gives Youth to the Aged" is highlighted. They look at the strange contraption and Sammy announces: "We will try it on the guv'nor". Suddenly a bolt of lighting emerges from the top of the machine and hits Sammy on the backside. He rubs the spot.
"I'll work the doings.. you find something else." Intertitle reads: "And Sausage found the identical heart machine used by Prof. Phenakerpan in his great experiment!" Sausage approaches a large machine which looks like one of the futuristic machines in the film "Metropolis". It resembles a large clock. Sausage turns around and around then sniffs at the machine. C/U of a notice: "Place 1d in slot. 3 cherries....20. 3 plums...15. 3 telephones...10. 3 lemons...0" He spins around again. Meanwhile Sammy is playing with the other strange machine. It sends out electric rays. Sausage stands on the clock machine and moves the arms around (like the factory worker in "Metropolis") C/U of the display in the middle of the clock face. Sausage gets three lemons. He moves the arms again and gets three cherries which quickly flips around to three lemons.
He holds one paw to his heart, the other in the air and shaking his head asks: "Father! Father! Will 20 never turn up?" Meanwhile Sammy is still generating lightning rays with his strange machine. The cartoon artist Joe Noble magically appears in the chair. A graphic intertitle with shades of "Metropolis" styling reads: "The Experiment" The machine sends out sparks and electrical currents into Joe Noble. The words: Grace, Agility and Youth appear and Joe is turned into a woman then back to a man, turned upside down and then made to look younger.
When the experiment is over Sammy and Sausage shake hands. Sammy winks and jumps up and down. Joe walks towards a window. Sammy says: "We over did it - he thinks he's Peter Pan." Joe climbs out onto the window ledge "..and he's trying to FLY!" Joe jumps from the window and falls to the ground - whirling camera effect. Stars appear. Sammy and Sausage walk along wearing funeral hats and carrying flowers. The words "And the Body's Downstairs" appear beneath their feet. Very odd!
