Tracking shot through car window down a country road. A woman frantically waves to stop the car. Two cars have smashed. The driver leaves his car and races after the woman to the crash site. A policeman arrives. Injured people are in the car. The driver runs back for his coat to cover the injured. He phones for an ambulance. Two ambulance men answer the call, leave their meal, and run outside to their ambulance. They drive off.

Paddy Hopkirk spins his rally mini car on a test circuit as a photographer takes pictures. He has won the Monte Carlo Rally. Another man joins him and they drive off taking corners at high speed. From the red mini rally car cut to a green mini in a suburban street. POV driving behind a lorry. An idiot driver pulls in front of the mini and overtakes the lorry on a blind bend almost hitting on oncoming car. The lorry driver waves Paddy to over take him despite being unable to see what is coming. An oncoming police car passes them. When safe, Paddy indicates and safely overtakes the lorry. The idiot driver indicates left but turns right. Paddy shows how it should be done. A save learner driver waves Paddy passed.

Two policemen stop lorries to check their load. The "good" driver is waved on. And being "good" he doesn't stop for two hitchhiking girls. Meanwhile the bad lorry driver has a poorly maintained lorry and gets a Fault sticker on his windscreen. Being bad he stops for the girls hitching, but gives no indication to the traffic behind him. The good lorry driver waves following cars passed when he sees the road is clear. The bad driver chats happily to the hitching girls and wanders all over the road causing havoc behind him. A Morris Minor frantically keeps pulling out in an attempt to overtake him.

The good lorry driver makes a properly indicated right hand turn, but the bad driver after dropping the hitching girls, turns right without indicating in front of oncoming traffic. The "tearaway" driver now overtakes the good driver to get to the cafe first. He does it on a narrow road with an approaching car. Even though he is first, by the time he has smoked a cigarette, put on the jukebox, played the slot machine, he has to rush his meal to catch up on his schedule. The good driver leaves first, well rested.

Cut back to the opening accident. The police are helping the injured as an ambulance arrives. Statistics are quoted, "7000" fatal accidents each year. The answer is more aware driving. Interior Advanced Driving School, a classroom of mature students are shown Driving situations using model cars on a magnetised blackboard. On the road a student is taught correct overtaking. A lorry driver demonstrates the use of his near side mirror as a cyclist comes up on his inside while trying to make a left turn. The need to anticipate is shown as two ladies talk by the side of the the road and one of them steps in front of a lorry and car. Back at the school the correct way to hold a steering wheel is demonstrated. Cars slide around as they practice on a skid track

An "Ordinary" motorist sets of for the office. He kisses his wife and daughter goodbye, opens his garage. The nice ordinary man is about to become a menace. He reverses out of his drive and just misses a toddler on a tricycle, and then causes another car to emergency brake as he backs right across the road. He pulls away first at the lights and drives across both lanes of traffic to turn right. Approaching Hammersmith he nearly runs down pedestrians on a marked crossing. He slows down to walking pace to see a sexy lady on the pavement. He drives to the front of a line of waiting cars and pushes in to everyone's annoyance. Stopping in the middle of a road to buy a newspaper he causes more havoc. Arriving at work he steals a parking spot as a woman is reversing into it. Happily he leaves his car, pays the meter, and walks up some steps to work.

A series of road rage incidents are demonstrated, tooting the horn at people after emergency braking, bumping, and shouting abuse. In a busy street a St. John's ambulance drives passed. Stopping outside a hospital the man in the opening accident is wheeled away and down a hospital corridor.
