Ground to air of large Russian aircraft with fighter escort bringing the cosmonauts to Vnukovo Airport on 22nd January 1969. VS Cosmonauts, Commander of Spaceship Soyuz 4 Colonel Vladimir Shatalov; Commander of Spaceship Soyuz 5 Colonel Boris Volinov, Technical Services Engineer Alexei Yeliseyev and Research-Engineer Yevgeni Khrunov walk along red carpet from plane towards the Russian leaders at Vnukovo Airport. They march up to leaders and receive kisses and hugs. The crowds go wild and cheer.
VS In open car, the cosmonauts drive into Moscow and enter the Kremlin. VS Inside Palace of Congress a massive ovation is given to the cosmonauts who in turn say a few words to the audience. MS Mr Leonid Brezhnev, President of the Supreme Soviet, speaks and praises the cosmonauts (Nat. sound). After him, President Nikolai Podgorny takes the stand to make a speech. (Nat. sound). VS He presents them with Gold Star Medals, and the cosmonauts are made Heroes of the Soviet Union.
