    Start of the Rugby League Cup final match between Barrow and Workington Town. GV. Barrow in "V" striped dark jerseys kicking off. Vickers picks up and punts up the field. SV. Tony Paskins cork screwing up the wing a nice pass inside to Mudge. Mudge to Ken Faulder who miss-fields it and before he can recover Lewthwaite grasses him. SCU. Duke of Edinburgh catching as Workington are awarded a penalty. LV. Tony Paskins taking Penalty kick. Ball over to give Workington the lead. Score, Barrow 0-2. SV. Crowd applaud. SCU. The Barrow three quarter line in a nice bout of passing until a neat tackle halts them, ball runs loose and Barrow press. SV. Crowd. Barrow are awarded a penalty. LV. Willie Horne kicking to put Barrow on even terms over post. Score, Barrow 2, Workington 2. SV. Crowd applauding. Half time. GV. Barrow attacking. Loose Horne's penalty goal gave Barrow a 4-2 lead and Roper's injury. SCU. Roper being carried off on stretcher. SV. Crowd looking disappointed. GV. Barrow attack. SCU. Healey trying to bustle through the Workington defence. He is stopped, back heels to Grundy who passes to Barton who passes to Horne. Horne drops a goal. SV. Crowd. Score, Barrow 6-2. SV. Barrow attacking. Loose over first part of this scene McKeating's try and Horne's conversion to bring the score to Barrow 11-2. Jackson picks up and starts a cross field run. He is stopped but Barrow still in possession battled the way through until Goodwin receives. He cuts through the defence to touch down. (Horne converted to make the score Barrow 16-2.) SV. Crowd cheering. LV. Workington attacking. CU. Barrow try to work the ball out but strong tackling keeps play in there. SV. Girl jumping in crowd. LS. Workington attacking. Gibson receives and slices through the Barrow defence, passes to Faulder who dashes forward and touches down. SV. Paskins converting to make the score 16-7 for Barrow. SV. Crowd.

    LV. Barrow attacking. Grundy running with the ball. He passes to Castle who dashes towards the line with Roper (now recovered and back in the game) hanging on to his shorts. Castle touches down. LV. Horne kicks conversion (Barrow 21-7). SV. Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh applauding. GV. Workington attacking. Gibson receives and brilliantly cuts through the Barrow defence to touch down. Paskins converted and made the final score - Barrow 21, Workington 12. Barrow wins the Rugby League Cup Final. SV. Crowd cheering. SCU. Horne receiving the cup from the Duke. He walks forward and holds it aloft. SV. Barrow team walking down steps. SCU. Duke commiserating with Workington team including injured players. SV. Horne being chaired by team mates. CU. Horne with the Cup.
