Thought to be Selected Originals from late 1940s material.
Pictures taken at the first Royal Command Film Performance in aid of the Cinematograph Trade Benevolent Fund. Empire Theatre, Leicester Square, London.
Various shots of constables and mounted police struggling to keep back the crowds who have crushed into Leicester Square to see the celebrities. M/S Princess Margaret, followed by Princess Elizabeth (later Queen Elizabeth II), Queen Elizabeth (later Queen Mother) and King George VI walking through a narrow lane to the foyer of the Empire Theatre. C/U of the Queen, in ivory satin and gold brocade gown, and sparkling diamond tiara receiving a bouquet from a little girl. Good C/U of the two Princesses with their bouquets, they walk up the steps inside.
