    Scotland.

    King George VI (former Prince Albert Duke of York) and Queen Elizabeth (former Duchess of York, later Queen Mother) arriving in the open carriage to St. Giles Cathedral. Queen is to become the First Lady of the Order of Thistle - no woman was admitted before. King and Queen in black velvet robes slowly entering cathedral. King and Queen leaving cathedral after the ceremony. King, Queen and Princesses Elizabeth (later Queen Elizabeth II) and Margaret in a car driving to the Castle - presumably Edinburgh Castle. Troops lined up a the entrance, crowds behind. Car stops and the King is presented with castle key. Car drives over the drawbridge into the castle grounds, cheering crowds around. King Queen and Princesses walking in castle grounds. King lays wreath on the Scottish War Memorial. Crowds cheering. Royal family leaving the castle in the car, crowds cheer.

    There is no mention of this item in the original paperwork for this issue. However, there is an item titled ROYAL CEREMONY in Pathe Gazettes issue 37/54 which is currently missing. It is possible that this is the missing item.
