    Title: "Rose Day Festival. Pretty ceremony of Crowning Queen in Happy Valley".

    M/S of two girls in long dresses laying a wreath on a town centre war memorial. High angled L/S of the sea front and pier, large crowds are gathered. Panning M/S of a group of little girls in white dresses with garlands in their hair, some carry bunches of flowers. A page boys enters and places a cushion on the floor for one of the girls to kneel on, another page boy enters carrying a crown on the cushion. C/U of the little girl wearing the crown. M/S of other children presenting gifts to the Rose Queen, all wear fancy dress, one is dressed as Boadicea.

    Note: film is damaged in some places obscuring image - looks like decomposition.
