Pauline Brooks is visiting a scrap yard in London. She is wearing a white fur fabric coat and has great bouffant short 1960's hair and wears glasses. The camera pans over the tangled heaps of metal. Pauline picks out a piece with shapes cut out, and a black guy wearing a white safety helmet cuts it for her.
In her workshop she and husband, John, admire the strange shapes of her scrap yard finds and he uses welding equipment to fix a piece onto a base. Pauline winces as she turns away from the flare, holding the metal in place as he, wearing a face shield, welds the base.
In the exhibition area, Sheldon Williams looks at some of of her works. She shows him some polished copper rings. There is a sequence of shots showing her weird works, all beautifully lit with interesting colours to accentuate the stark shapes of the metal. One looks like a backbone.
