Quaint Cornish customs - business whilst townsfolk play centuries old game of 'hurling' with a 10lb silver ball. St. Columb, Cornwall.

The Hurling game in St. Columb; Cornwall; England -- a traditional amusement that involves tossing a 10 lb silver ball into a crowd! Crowd gathered in street; with one man climbing up on a lamppost. DS street; with village folks hanging out. Another shot of same; mostly boys in front. Suddenly a bunch of them go rushing to rt. Then they run off in the other direction. Someone else gets hold of the ball and flings it off another way and they all start swarming over there; and really getting into a struggle for it -- sometimes looks like a free-for-all fight. This goes on for a while in a similar manner. People seem to be having great fun; getting into the mob spirit of it which is Chaos. (Something about this is reminiscent of crowds fighting for plastic trinkets at Carnival parades.) Bizarre customs. Most of the story shows men and boys; but at the end; some girls; young women in FG. Finally; shot of a bunch of people standing in front of the old stone building; with

    Recreation.
