Prince of Wales tour of South Africa.

Titles read: "Produced by British Instructional Films LTD Surbiton Surrey. Photographed by G Barkas and S Rodwell. Approved by the Admiralty."

"When the Prince left Kumasi the Ashanti capital, the first part of the return journey to the coast was made by rail." Tracking shots of small huts in jungle. Group shots of local chiefs seated looking at camera at Bosuso station. A sign which one of the chiefs is holding up reads: "WELCOME TO THE ROYAL HIGHNESS PRINCE OF WALES FROM DHENE OF DBOMENG YAW MENSAH" M/S of man beating strange looking instrument with a stick. M/S of the Prince's train pulling into station. "From this station on the Prince was to complete the journey to Accra by road." M/S of the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII / Duke of Windsor) and entourage walking away from train.

M/S of crowds of children waving flags. M/S of the Prince being greeted by dignitaries. Similar shots. M/S of the Prince's car moving along road (presumably on the way to Accra), crowds line street. "The Prince halted at Kibbi where a native band made devastating havoc of the British Grenadiers." Group shot of the brass band playing. C/U of local man playing the trombone. M/S of villagers dancing to drum beat. C/U of man playing flute. More shots of people dancing. Shots of the Prince's car arriving in Accra. Groups shots of crowds clapping and cheering.

"Government House where the Prince stayed, is an old castle built by the Danes - its tropical setting lending it added charm." L/S of the large building surrounded by palm trees. The Prince and entourage attend tree planting ceremony. Group shot of women singing. The Prince is seen covering new tree with soil using shovel. High angle shots of large crowds as the Prince leaves Holy Trinity Church. Crowds run down street as his car leaves. The Prince is driven around polo field, he takes seat on raised platform. Group shots as the Prince meets tribal chiefs. C/U of the hands of chief covered in exotic jewellery. M/S of man dancing (he look to be wearing a kind of dog costume. More shots of the Prince greeting chiefs.

The tribal chiefs depart. Many are carrying large drums which others beat. Various similar shots. M/Ss of chiefs being held up by locals. "Where Britons foregather there you will find a race course. And the Prince found Accra no exception to this rule." M/S of jockey mounting horse. M/S of horses and jockeys walking past camera. M/S of the Prince chatting with woman as he lights cigarette. Group shots of several sailors joking and laughing with each other. M/Ss of a very animated local bookies. More shots of the Prince chatting with dignitaries. Shots of race in progress. "Late that afternoon the Prince bade farewell to the Gold Coast."

L/S of Prince and entourage on dockside, large crowds are also present. L/S of the Prince departing on large rowing (or surf) boat bound for the HMS Repulse.
