    Clacton, Essex.

    L/S of a man in a suit speaking into a microphone, there is a crowd in the background behind a rope. M/S of a Butlin's redcoat speaking to people in the crowd, he picks out a man and a woman who go under the barrier and walk out of frame with him.

    M/S of a row of prams with people talking in the background. M/S of adults climbing into the prams, they tip up backwards and fall on the floor. M/S of a man trying to push a lady in the pram which tips over backwards and she falls out. M/S of a man wheeling another pram into the shot, he helps the lady up, and a female red coat helps her get into another pram. M/S of a man taking his jacket off and handing it to another lady in a pram. L/S of people in the crowd cheering. M/S back view of a woman being squeezed into a pram by a male redcoat in shorts.

    C/U of a young couple in the crowd, the boy has his arm around the girl, and she is holding his hand. L/S of the prams at the starting line, the starter's flag comes down and the race begins. The men are pushing and the women are in the prams, the camera follows them round. M/S of man pushing the pram, the woman in it is laughing. M/S of another couple racing, L/S of the whole race. M/S of the crowd cheering them on. Various shots of the race. Everybody seems to be enjoying it.

    M/S of a couple reaching the end, he tips her out of the pram and she stands and picks a milk bottle up. She starts to drink it, the narrator says she has to drink a full bottle of milk as part of the competition. C/U of another woman drinking milk from the bottle with it dribbling down her chin. L/S of another couple finishing the race and the flag going down. The woman gets out and starts drinking the milk, she turns to face the camera. Another woman gets out of her pram and starts to drink from a milk bottle. C/U of a woman in the crowd cheering. M/S of all the women drinking. One of them finishes and holds the bottle in the air. M/S of the crowd cheering. M/S of her partner being given the trophy and shaking hands with the man who presented it.

24 January 2015 marks 50 years since the death of British Prime Minister and international statesman, Sir Winston Churchill. British Pathé’s cameras followed Churchill throughout his career.
