Various shots show a parade of police cadets being inspected by Sir Norman Skelhorn at Hendon Police Training School's Passing Out Parade.
At the Ashford Police Training College, a road accident is reconstructed for instruction purposes; cadets learn how to deal with the situation and take statements. Several shots at the colleges at Hendon and Ashford show cadets sitting around on a campus terrace, reading (not in uniform); selecting books in a library; taking lessons in a classroom; using surveying equipment.
At Ashford, various shots show the young men in a sports hall; using a trampoline, practising judo and playing basketball. At Lippitts Hill Camp in Essex, we see the cadets dressed in army-type clothes, climbing and swinging on ropes; sliding down ropes from a tree to the ground (looks rather uncomfortable); leaping over muddy water; climbing walls and other assault course activities.
The cadets stand in a field to watch a demonstration by three police dog handlers; one of the dogs chases after a man as if he is a criminal, with dramatic snarling dog sounds on the soundtrack.
C/U of a hand dialling 999 on a telephone (Ealing exchange); a police car with flashing light comes out of a police station and zooms around a corner; a police cadet (he looks about 12!) sits in the back seat. The police car speeds along roads; a lollipop man lets pedestrians cross a zebra crossing when the car has zipped by. The car stops at the gates of a deserted factory; the police chase an intruder with an Alsatian police dog; they corner him at the far gate.
