Full title reads: "Personalities in the News".

Rt. Hon. J.H. Thomas, MP, in exclusive interview at Pathe Studios in London. Mr. Thomas represents Derby in Parliament.

C/U of Mr. T. talking to camera and smoking a pipe. Thomas talks about his pride in Britain for its democracy and its monarchy. He talks about his part in Irish settlement. Finally he tells us an anecdote about winning a golfing trophy. It might be a joke - hard to tell because he's so dead pan!

In-between Mr. T. talking are various shots of shipyards and coal in rail wagons being loaded onto ships. Relates to trade improvements due to Irish settlement.
