    C/U of a street sign - "Baker Street. N.W.1.". C/U Trixie Etheridge and Annette Kerner (Kernor?), private detectives who operate the "Mayfair Detective Agency", in their office. Various shots as John Parsons finds out how the detectives work by helping them in the street. Kernor stops him and asks him to talk to her as she is watching a house. M/S as Parsons questions Kernor about her work. M/S as Trixie Etheridge comes along the street to relieve Kernor. She is introduced to Parsons and shakes hands with him. He questions her about her job, she says it is very exciting.

    Captain Gordon, the founder of Night Guards Ltd, is interviewed by John Parsons in his office. He explains the object of the organisation. (to protect property and people). C/U of a night guard dressed in the uniform of the organisation, he tries the doors and windows of a house on his rounds at night. He uses a flashlight to look at the upper windows to see if everything is all right.
