Animation featuring the character Bobby Bumps. A Bray Studios production.
Bobby winds up a strange gun with a crank handle. His dog stands and watches saying: "Too high!" Bobby lowers the gun and jumps astride it. "Lil' speed on the snowballs, Fido!" reads an intertitle. Fido throws up a ball which lands inside the gun. Bobby cranks the gun up again. He fires it and the dog says: "Too low!" An elderly man walks along a snowy street. Suddenly his top hat falls off. Fido sees what is happening through a periscope device. The man picks his hat up and puts it on, it is suddenly knocked off by a snowball. Dog faces camera and laughs uproariously. The gun is cranked up again and the dog laughs. A black maid walks along carrying two baskets. She gets hit by a snowball too. She turns to face the camera and holds her head. Another snowball hits her on the back of the head and she looks surprised. She spots the gun and crawls towards it. The gun suddenly pops up and she gets a snowball in the face. She gets annoyed and shouts in the direction of the gun.
Bobby and Fido run off with the maid in hot pursuit. They all run up a very snowy hill. When Bobby gets to the top he fires a snowball from the gun, then he and Fido roll up a very large snowball and push it down the hill. It engulfs the maid and we see it rolling along with her arms and legs sticking out of it. Bobby and Fido run through the snow pulling along the gun. The snowball rolls along and crashes into a tree. The maid emerges. She stands very still. Bobby and Fido come along and Bobby observes: "She's Froze Stiff!" Bobby goes into a house and brings out buckets of water which he throws over the maid. Eventually she thaws out and runs after Bobby into the house. "The disappearing gun" reads an intertitle. Bobby sits on the stairs with his head in his hands - presumably crying - whilst the maid chops up the gun with an axe. She throws it into an incinerator. Fido sits beside Bobby howling.
