Cuts (rushes, out takes) for stories in Colour Pictorial - CP 520. The cut stories are also on Pathe Master tape *PM0303*.
Cuts are rather mixed up in this reel so worth checking through whole 22 mins.
DRAG CAR RACING - lots of footage not seen in cut story. Good C/Us of cars, drivers and spectators. One particularly cool driver in a silver leather suit signs autographs. Moving shots from cars of spectators and other cars. (There are some more cuts for this story after the "Advanced Driving" cuts). Lots of the drivers have nice quiffs!
ADVANCED DRIVING - similar if not same footage as in cut story. More point of view shots from inside the lorry and car. Cuts continue after "Testing Safety Belts" cuts.
TESTING SAFETY BELTS - similar if not same footage as used in cut story.
MOTOR WAYS THIEF PROOF CAR - similar if not same footage as used in cut story. I think there is more footage of the van being driven to the location. Shots of the "make believe bandits" trying to break into the van. Shots of them trying to push the van and of them spraying it with fire extinguisher.

WW2 accounted for over 60m deaths and innumerable lives shattered. Pathé cameras took to land, sea and air to record the bloodshed. Here are the 10 bloodiest battles that were caught on film.
Life before health and safety laws; men worked at huge heights, balancing on girders and cranes all in order to help build the world's tallest skyscrapers.
Terrorism is nothing new. The Pathe archive has a vast collection of material related to terrorist attacks dating back to 1919 right through to the 2005 London bombings.
