Cuts (rushes, out takes) for stories in Colour Pictorial - CP 514. Cut stories are also on tape *PM0295*.
Cuts for SCOOTER RALLY - similar to footage in cut story but some nice shots not used of the stunts, games and spectators. Good shot of man taking cover of scooter engine to polish the chrome - very nice bike. Short shot of a "Mod" wearing a parka and sporting a large feather in his helmet. A mate sits on the back of the bike looking very cool. C/U of two young boys wearing bizarre hats. More shots of the ride through town showing different nationalities attending. The Dutch crowd are having the most fun. "Pillow Fight" sequence comes in the middle of the Stately Home Railway cuts. Passengers on scooters try and knock each other off with pillows - probably not used in the story because pillows advertise Castrol Oil. There are two sequences amongst the Stately Home cuts.
Cuts for HAIR PERSONALITY - same or similar footage of Joanne Dainton getting her hair done.
Cuts for STATELY HOME RAILWAY - similar footage to cut story, mostly of the boat trip at Stapleford Park. Shot of a man helping the old dears onto the boat not seen in cut story. Extra shots of people on the boat. C/Us of children on the boat. Views from the miniature train. C/U of the lifesaver on the boat which reads: "Northern Star". More footage of the train ride. Shot of the level crossing coming down (not seen in cut story) - a boy on a bike has to wait for the train to pass. Shots of the station signs and of signals. Station master fluffs his whistle blowing shot. Coal is shovelled into the tiny coal hole of the engine. Woman has trouble getting her ticket out of the machine. Engines being polished and oiled. Shots of lots of people having tea at tables in the ground of the stately home. This sequence not in the cut story. M/Ss of the Official Train Spotter waving to the tourists - not seen in cut story. There is a sign in front of him reading "Old Harry! - The Official Train Spotter". C/U of Harry - he waves a white piece of paper. Engine arrives back at "Central Station" and is turned around on a turntable. L/S of woman getting her ticket.
