Cuts (rushes, out takes) for stories in Colour Pictorial - CP 384. The original stories are on Pathe Master tape *PM0181*.
01:07:38 to 01:09:32 cuts for story OYSTER FARM in CP 384. Various shots showing oysters being 'planted' in mud beds - similar to the cut version. There are some shots not used in the final version - most notably, some C/Us of the fishermen. Also the picture quality of these cuts is much better than the combined print of the completed story.
01:09:32 to 01:15:40 cuts for story THE VICTORY in CP 384. Various shots of HMS Victory with men working in the rigging and hoisting flags - like the final version but from different angles. C/U of the ornate entrance to the ship not seen in the story. Also unused, various M/Ss of sailors standing to attention as an officer enters the ship to inspect it. C/U of sailors standing to attention, blowing whistles - the officer walks past and salutes them. Various L/Ss of the Victory from different angles to the final version.
01:15:40 to 01:19:17 cuts for story STEWARDETTES in CP 384. Various shots of the stewardettes relaxing in their staff room - playing games, reading, dancing and knitting. Various shots of a stewardette having her hair done and having a facial. Various shots inside the dining saloon. Various shots of the stewardettes, in uniform being briefed by their boss. Various shots of the stewardettes swimming in the on deck pool and sunbathing. The cuts are pretty much the same as the completed story.
01:19:17 to 01:22:27 more cuts for story OYSTER FARM in CP 384. Various shots of the oyster harvesting process. Once again there are more C/Us of the fishermen, also the cuts show the oysters being rinsed in the sea. As with the first set of cuts, these are of a much better quality than the combined print version of the story.
