01:00:07 to 01:09:03 cuts for story LAMP-LIGHTERS OF THE SEA in CP 334. Similar footage to that in the cut story; lots of buoy cleaning and mussels being scraped off the buoy's bottom! Some different shots show the deck of the Vestal being hosed down, and the light cage of a buoy being lifted on and off. Nice C/U of a sailor smiling while he works. Several shots of anchor chains being wound and unwound.
01:09:03 to 01:13:51 cuts for story GIRL FOOTBALLERS in CP 334. Similar footage to cut story; quite a lot of the game; the girls don't play very well, I'm afraid! Clever editing made them look better in the original story. Most of them run about in a very girly way; a couple of them make some half-hearted goal attempts. A nice sequence not in the cut story shows the girls doing side-stretches in the field before the game (led by a man); they have a little trouble starting their star-jumps at the same time! The man shows one of the girls how to throw the ball from offside.
01:13:50 to 01:17:58 cuts for story RADIO PILL in CP 334. Similar footage to cut story. Nothing very different apart from a longer sequence of the female patient playing cards (looks like patience) and sipping her cup of tea.
NOTE: This is the first official item on Pathe Master tape *PM0143*; there is an incomplete item ('Lacock Abbey' - CP 092) on the tape before these out takes - please ignore! (Complete 'Lacock Abbey' is on Pathe Master tape *PM0055*.)
