Shadowy shot of athletes getting ready in the athletics stadium, next to high row of seated officials. Male athletes prepare for the start of the 800 metres final, as one athlete false starts. The race is re-started, and the athletes get away cleanly. Nice shot from behind the finish line as the athletes finish the race, with USA's Mal Whitfield finishing first, Jamaica's Arthur Wint in second, and Germany's Heinz Ulzheimer falling on the line as he dives to take third. Tighter shot of Ulzheimer as he is helped to his feet by a photographer. Medal ceremony, as Whitfield receives his gold medal, Whit his silver, and Ulzheimer his bronze. The three athletes face the flags for the national anthem. Slightly shaky but long shot of the scoreboard showing the result of the race.
Close up of athletes on the podium following the completion of the men's discus final, with USA's Sim Iness receiving the gold medal, followed by close up of him holding on the podium. Italy's Adolfo Consolini stands next to him in the silver medal position, and USA's James Dillion is in the bronze medal position. Nice shot of athletes as they stand for the national anthem, then wider shot of them on the podium, including officials and press. Slightly shaky but long shot of the scoreboard showing the result of the competition.
Shaky shot of athletes entering the athletics track. Low shot of women's 100 metres race. Close up of timing equipment for the race. Brief close up of high row of seated officials in the centre of the athletics field. Shot of athletes on the podium following the men's pole vault competition. USA's Bob Richards smiles and waves to the crowd before receiving the gold medal. USA's Don Laz receives the silver medal, and a friendly handshake from Richards, and Sweden's Ragnar Lundberg receives the bronze, and two warm handshakes. Athletes stand for the national anthem. Brief shaky shot of the scoreboard showing the result of the competition.

All of the events featured in this clip took place on 22 July 1952.

"Whit his silver" should read Wint his silver.
