  • The scenes from the Opening Ceremony, seen at the outset of this clip, took place on 19 July 1952.

    The Men's 10,000 metres took place on 20 July 1952.

    "Close up of Asian athlete, probably Pakistan's Abdul Rashid" - no, this athlete is wearing the kit of India. This is therefore either Surat Singh Mathur starting the Marathon, Gulzara Singh Mann starting the 3,000m steeplechase, or Sohan Singh in the 800m.

    "Lindy Remigino receiving his gold medal" - also with him on the podium are Herb McKenley of Jamaica and McDonald Bailey of Great Britain.
