  • Description

    Germany / Austria.

Various shots of a steam train decorated with pine-leaves and Nazi swastikas in a forest area near the Austrian / German border. Men shovel earth into wagons pulled by the train, working on a new section of road that will link the German autobahns with those of Austria.

It seems to be a public ceremony to mark the first earth dug from the section. Crowds of people make the Nazi salute; Nazi flags fly in the wind with snow-capped mountains seen in the background; a large notice commemorates the building of the new section. L/Ss of trees being felled, clearing the way for work on the road.

Verbal warfare at its best. Here are some of history's greatest retorts and snarling insults. These people certainly didn't mince their words!
