National Guard. Location of events unknown.

National Guard parades. First; a NG march in a large open space in a field or park. A great number of men parade in a variety of different uniforms -- some in Scottish kilts; etc. some similar to regular Army uniforms; and some in no uniforms at all; just civilian wear. Guys playing drums and brass band instruments. Young boys run alongside some of the time DS from high above: big parade on a city street; with old ornate iron work lamp in F.G. Back to the original scene. Marchers are stopped; with an elderly guy in F.G on horseback - horse is stepping around nervously but finally stands still. Marching resumes.

    Defence. Military.

10 telling images selected from British Pathé's extensive WWI footage. 'The war to end all wars' was a war without parallel: over 70 million military personnel were involved and over 17 million people died.

Verbal warfare at its best. Here are some of history's greatest retorts and snarling insults. These people certainly didn't mince their words!
