    Title: "National Cross Country Championship. Corporal W.M. Cotterell individual winner in 56 mins. 50 secs. and Birchfield Harriers' Team Winners ... 219 runners and 19 Teams competed".

    L/S of the start of a large cross country race - lots of runners comes towards the camera. L/S of the runners coming across a large empty field. M/S of runners jumping over a hillock past a small group of spectators. Panning shot follows a pack of runners. M/S of spectators on either side of the last leg of the track, two runners comes towards the camera cheered on by the crowd. C/U of the winner - Corporal C. - trying to catch his breath, well-wishers pat him on the back, the runner-up enters and shakes his hand.
