  • The location here is the Morecambe and Heysham swimming pool.

    Doreen Dawne and Aileen Chase seen here had both narrowly missed out on winning Miss World 1951, finishing 2nd runner-up and 4th runner-up respectively.

    "Lillemor Knusden" should read Lillemor Knudsen. She went on to get small parts in 5 British films of the 1950s, including the Belles of St Trinian's.

    Brenda Mee went on to become Miss England in 1955.
