This is Royal Windsor Horse Show and the Mounties are about to do their Musical Ride - tells the voiceover - the famous Royal Canadian Mounted Police Musical Ride.

They are performing something known as 'wrist work' with their Lances - turning the Laces in various directions. Windsor castle is seen in the background. M/S of the audience. The 'Mounties' start their ride. They ride in two columns on each side of the arena. Then they ride towards each other, meet in the middle and return to their starting positions. L/S of the two columns of 'Mounties' riding towards each other. Two columns of 'Mounties' ride towards each other but this time pass each other and swap places. C/U of the face of a young girl in the audience.

L/S of the 'Mounties' performing a figure called "Star". They from a cross and ride in circle holding the cross together. C/U shot of a little boy in the audience. Succession of shots of the 'Mounties' forming several figures called "The Double Shanghai Cross", "Maltese Cross" and "The Maze". During this exercise they display considerable skill and discipline. Shots of 'Mounties' performing were juxtaposed with shots of young boys watching, which highlights the voiceover's suggestion that "Many a youngster looks on and daydreams about the famous Redcoats..."
