Cuts from newsreel 47/23 - Moscow Conference, Russia.

    Russian titles.

General shots of Moscow. Buildings and street scenes. Shots of British Foreign Minister Ernest Bevin being met by Vyshinsky and other officials at the railway station. Great shot of a fabulous Russian steam train moving along.

Bevin stands at a microphone and says he is very glad to be in Moscow again and brings good wishes from Britain and the Commonwealth to the people of the Soviet Union. Shots of Bevin and officials walking from the station to their cars, amid stirring soundtrack music. A group of Russian women stand watching, wearing fur coats and hats. Bevin is driven off.

The next day French Foreign Minister arrives at the same station. Similar shots of George Bidault and his wife being met by Vyshinsky and other Soviet officials. Bidault waves to the camera as he walks through the station. He makes a short speech in French.

Commentator translates, saying Bidault is happy to be back in Moscow. He was last there during the war to sign a treaty of alliance with the Soviet Union. He has made the trip with complete faith in the success of the Moscow Conference and in the agreement of the four powers. He says his trip was so pleasant it seemed a bit too short. More stirring music as Bidault walks through the station and poses for photographers before getting into his car.
