John Wills Training School for Fashion and Photographic Models, Fulham, London.

M/S of a row of lovely young ladies sitting against a climbing frame in a gymnasium. The girls all wear small black shorts and various tops all in shades of red and white - a very pretty picture. They bend their heads from side to side - doing neck exercises. They are Britain's "models of the future" at a training school for models and mannequins.

Great C/Us of the girls as they do their hand exercises. C/U of the teacher telling the girls how to move their hands gracefully. C/U of a girl operating an exercise machine then great shots of the girls lying on the floor doing cycling exercises (or "the dying fly"!). Good C/Us of one two of the girls chatting as they exercise. Other girls are seen performing stretching exercises on the wall bars.

M/S of a group of girls being taught the basics of hair styling by Leonard Ralph. Good shots of the girls concentrating and of the girl who is having her hair styled.

L/S of instructress demonstrating the correct way to "turn" on the catwalk. The "rocking turn" is designed to make the skirt flare out. The teacher then shows the girls how to curtsey correctly. How to carry and pivot around an umbrella is the next lesson. The outfits are very glamorous.

M/S of a photographer setting up his camera and lights. The girls get behind the lens as he explains photography technique. Ends with a C/U of one of the girls who does a cheeky wink to camera. Fantastic!

Note: advertising brochure for the school and newspaper clippings about it in documentation file.
