The clip's title, describing the ship as a missile launcher, and the note at the end of the shots list describing it as a missile interceptor are incorrect. HMS Fearless was in fact an amphibious assault ship, designed to transport and land troops by sea.

The launching seen here took place on 19 December 1963.

"Man and woman on launching platform, the woman releases bottle" - the woman is Lady Hull.

The launching is taking place from the yard of Harland and Wolff in Belfast.
