Introductory intertitle reads: "Who said they were behind the times in Nippon? The girls play a billiards game all their own!"

M/S of a billiards table. Two Japanese women walk towards each other and bow to each other. They hold snooker cues and wear traditional kimonos. Half a dozen other women watch. To decide who goes first they do something which looks like "Water Stone Paper Knife" - they each make several gestures with their hands. The walk over to the table and begin to play a game which looks nothing like our billiards. "And they're expert too, even though they do use 4 balls in the game - " The other women sit and watch. They applaud certain shots - smiling and laughing. Various shots of the game.

The game the ladies are seen playing here is the carom billiards game called Four-ball. Note that the game is played on a pocketless table.
