Trial of conspirators in USSR; 1923.

    Moscow (Russia, Soviet Union).

Pan on faces of people in crowd. People enter building in single file; stopped by Red Army guards who look at each person's papers. Interior: people walking past. CU Nikolai Krylenko; People's Commissar for Justice (seems like attorney for prosecution); with another man leaning in to talk to him. CU of various pieces of evidence on table: papers; books; a handgun; bullets; a few tiny boxes; etc.

CU Ms. Konopleva speaking in court; she is accused of being one of the leaders of the revolutionary party and of the plot - or should one say counterrevolutionary party. Shot looking down and panning right on men and women seated at table; writing. CU bearded man reading the verdict; he looks like stereotypical image of Bolsheviks. CU a few people seated in rows; listening; possibly the accused?
