    Cathedrals of Liverpool.

    Merseyside (formerly Lancashire).

    Various shots of men at work on the Metropolitan Roman Catholic Cathedral. They build the roof and carve the slabs of Cornish granite into shape. Various shots as they sand and polish the granite, a big cross shape is lifted up and other pieces slot into position. A man winds another large piece into its place. C/U's of a model of the Cathedral as it will be when completed.

    Various shots of workmen carving the sandstone slabs for the Protestant Cathedral which is also under construction. They place them into position and work on building the roof. The Cathedral has been under construction since 1904. Various shots as they chip at the stone and lift the blocks up. A man carves a delicate tracery. A large slab of stone is manoeuvred into position. The camera pans up the wall to the tower under construction.
