    A British Travel Association film. Commentary by Edward Ward. Cilgerran (?) Castle in South Wales.

    01:06:54 Traditional fisherman lifts a coracle (wicker boat) onto his back. Fisherman picks up his oar and walks towards the bank of the Tithe (?) river with his dog following. He puts is nets into Th. coracle and pushes off from the banks. Narrator relates the history of the coracle, he tells how Julius Caesar ordered his soldiers to make coracles during a war against Spain. L/S of man floating down the river. C/Us of foaming rapids of the river Tithe (?).

    01:08:23 Various shots of the river. Narrator briefly relates how a coracle is made - we see a boatmaker working with strus of soaked willow. He planes the willow and then threads it into the framework of the boat he is making. Various shots of the boat taking shape. More shots of the "wild rapids of the local rivers" and of man paddling along in his coracle. "For the visitor who comes this way the Tithe promises a cheap and rare experience in the sport of fishing from a coracle." Wicker boats can be hired.

    01:10:45 Pettershall (?) Northamptonshire. Point to point race is the next event featured - steeplechasing over rough terrain. Various shots of people at the point to point meeting and of the betting totes. Shots of men placing bets and signalling odds. Shots of the horses, jockeys mount their steeds. Man studies form. The race begins. Camera follows the horses. Various shots of the horses as they jump fence and ride across fields. Spectators look through binoculars.

    01:13:50 Richmond in Surrey. High angle shot. Various shots of Richmond Streets. Shopping streets are seen. The river Thames, pleasure boats travel along. The two parks are mentioned. Two women push prams along the riverside. An artist paints at an easel. High angle shot of the countryside. The deer park - various scenic shots. Close shots of deer, their antlers are described. Keeper feeds the deer - throws them food.

    01:16:36 Torquay, Devon. Various shots of the harbour, yachts, pleasure boats etc. Various shots of people preparing their dinghies for a sail, Men and women haul sails, blow up dinghies etc. Camera follows yachts as they sail along. Dragon class yacht. Man looks through binoculars. Various shot of sails of yachts. Woman sitting in a deck chair watches through binoculars. C/U of a woman looking out to sea. More shots of yachts. M/S of a family standing on the side of a small boat or ferry looking out to sea. "For the visitor with the taste for a lovely sight or sport the yachting of Torbay must rank with the best of Britain's attractions at one of her loveliest resorts.
