    GV. Pan, floodlit White City Stadium. GV. Runners ready to start the men 100 metres race. Gun fires, and away they go. Camera pans with runners, John Young in a lead, he seems to pause and falls to the ground. Pan with the others as the winner S. Jakabfy breaks the tape. CU. S. Jakabfy.

    SV. The runners stand on the line ready for the men 5,000 metres race. CU. Man fires gun. SV. Competitors start off and camera pans with them as they go away into the bend. SCU. Pan, the runners' legs. SV. Towards and past, the runners - Frank Sando leading, Josef Kovacs is second, third is another Hungarian Varga and behind him in fourth place is Ken Norris.

    SV. Man swinging the hammer, No 2 on his back. Hammer leaves his hands. LV. Pan as the hammer flies through the air and hits the ground. Men rush to measure it. LV. Hungarian swinging the hammer, he releases it and camera pans with it as it hits the ground. This competition was won by J. Csermak of Budapest.

    SV. Towards, Thelma Hopkins runs to take high jump. She jumps. She wins the high jump competition. CU. Thelma Hopkins after her high jump victory.

    LV. Towards and pan, coming into the last bend of the 5,000 metres, Szabo leading, just behind on the inside is Norris and running alongside him and overtaking on the outside is Sando. Sando starts to leave Norris and go after Szabo. Sando is rapidly closing the gap, draws level with him and just breaks the tape to snatch a victory. SCU. Photographers. CU.
