L/S of a man wearing a beret, he is Ernst Engler, Head Keeper at the zoo. He climbs over a low railing to the cage where there is a lion prowling about. The lion comes and rubs its head against the bars, Ernst reaches through and strokes it. C/U of the lion rubbing itself against the bars whilst being stroked, and yawning. C/U of Ernst as he is stroking the lion, he turns away.
L/S Ernst walks past the lions cage and the lion starts prowling about again. He walks over to another cage containing a tiger. The tiger comes over to him and sits down so it can be stroked like the lion. C/U of two other tigers through some bars. C/U of Ernst and the tiger, he is stroking its nose and face through the bars. M/S of Ernst stroking the tiger, the lions cage is also visible in the background.

M/S Ernst walking past a large garden with trees and a flower bed round the border. M/S of him walking past a chimpanzee cage and round to the side, he puts his hands in the cage and pats the floor. A chimp runs over and starts climbing up the bars. M/S of Ernst picking up two plastic cups and putting them to the bars, the chimp drinks out of one then the other. C/U of a little girl seen through the railings laughing. M/S of Ernst playing with the chimp, another chimp steals the hat from his head, the camera moves down to Ernst who starts to climb through the cage door.

C/U of an angelic looking little girl through the railings watching them. M/S of Ernst with one chimp on his back and the other grabbing his arms. One of the chimps comes towards the camera and tries to reach out to it through the bars.

The other chimp jumps down in front of the camera and hangs onto the bars. Ernst and the chimp start swinging together.
