    Leeds, Yorkshire.

    A museum with a difference - a living exhibit of a Victorian street.

    M/S of a quaint row of old shops, a woman in period costume accompanied by a man in military uniform look in a shop windows. Panning shot around an old fashioned pharmacy, camera stops on a man, tilt down to show him using an antiquated pill making machine. M/S of a man coming out of a house accompanied by his wife, both wear period costume. The man goes to his vintage bike leaning against a wall, the couple walk down the street.

    L/S of the street, people mill about in period dress, we see from the glass ceiling it is fact a living exhibition in a modern museum, Kirkstall Abbey Museum. M/S of a man in a top hat talking to an elderly woman, tilt down old fashioned tricycle he is sitting on. M/S of a man using an barrel organ. C/U of the soldier and his young lady by a shop window, C/U of products on display in the window. Various shots of Victorian signs. An elderly woman goes into the Iron Mongers shop, it is full of Victorian bric-a-brac. The shop assistant demonstrates laundry plunger and barrel, he then demonstrates one of the first vacuum cleaners. The shop assistant and the woman looking at an early portable vacuum cleaner. C/U of the woman examining an iron, C/U of the shop assistant demonstrating a crimping machine. C/U of elaborate gold coffin ornaments in a cabinet.

    C/U of an ancient machine that makes nails. M/S of a man operating the machine. Various shots of the nail making process - very laborious! L/S of the exterior of the nail makers workshop, through a window we see him at work. An old man in a top hat looks through the window of a music shop, various C/Us of sheet music and instruments. C/U of a birdcage shaped music box, a elderly man winds it up. Various shots of the man and his wife in their parlour, she looks at a album of black and white photographs.
