The title is somewhat misleading - the race is actually the French Grand Prix, held at Le Mans.
The race took place on 25 July 1921.
The winner was Jimmy Murphy, in his Duesenberg.
It's pretty much impossible to identify individual cars in the clip, but other car makes taking part were Ballot, Sunbeam and Mathis.
