    Puppy trail dog race is the first of the competitions at Grasmere Sports. Crowds watching. Dogs are off, running through lies of people and out of the arena. The end of race, dogs returning to arena. 'Black Cracker' wins the race. Men holding their dogs - dogs seems to be very lively.

    Start of the Guides Race - two miles cross country run. Contestants are seen climbing a hill and jumping over high wall. Long shot of quite high hill with a flag on top. Contestants have to run up the hill, down and back to start again. Gilpin, the winner, shakes hands with Lord Lonsdale.
