Mayor shaking hands; talking to older man who may be father of the hero soldier. CU mayor Group of people walk toward camera - mayor walking next to Corp. Redmore. Policemen. Crowd of civilians.

    CU Redmore & others on some platform - old lady draped in fur thing either just pinned something on his jacket or else examined his medal; then shakes hands; Mayor on rt. Looking over street in village; w/ parade approaching - marching band; open automobile w/Redmore; his father?; and officer; then British Army troops; then schoolchildren waving Union Jacks. CU posing on platform. Homecoming. Welcome.

  • This is likely, but not certain, to be Private (later Lance Corporal) W J Redmore.

    Redmore was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal (DCM) for the following action (search under Redmore in this piece).....

  • The man suddenly starts getting called "Redmond" further down the shots list. Perhaps they should be changed to Redmore? Any more info on your canisters??
