What we're seeing here is the fight by the Association of Cinematogragh, Television and Allied Technicians (ACTT) for union recognition at Kodak, (a fight that was ultimately sucessful).
The man seen at 00:01 is Alan Sapper, the General Secretary of the ACTT.
