The player on the left is my late grandfather. Starting of in the 10th Hussars then going on to become one of if not the longest serving bandmaster in the 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards. Major Cyril Nel M.V.O. A.R.C.M. Two nicknames \'Shiner\' either due to his allways immaculate turnout or because of the 10th hussars and \'Ding Dong Nel\' either due to his prowess on percussion or his bad temper.
