King Christian X and the Queen of Denmark on state visit to England. 1916?

    Dover, Kent.

GV King's ship arriving at Dover. M/S ship in harbour; a young man in a cocked hat (possibly one of King George V's sons - Edward, Prince of Wales?) walks up gangplank and shakes hands with King Christian on deck. Several older men follow the young man, they also wear ceremonial uniforms. King Christian, the Queen and the young man (Prince of Wales ?) leave the ship.

King & Queen of Denmark sitting in open coach during procession. Much pomp, spectacle, ceremony, with coachmen on back in elaborate costumes etc. King Christian wears a tall furry black hat like a busby, the Queen's hat is also magnificent - lots of white plumes. In foreground, looking toward coach, are various dignitaries, some wearing powered wigs. One man hands something toward King. King stands up in coach, salutes and bends over to look.

Note: difficult to determine whether or not the young man is Prince Edward - no C/U shots of face.

    Modified WPA record.
