The film shows the Guards and the Stockholm garrison swearing allegiance to the new king, Gustaf VI Adolf, after the death of his father, Gustaf V. Man watching in car is not the Crown pirince, but an old prince Oscar, an uncle of the new king. The Crown prince was then today´s king , Carl XVI Gustaf, and was only four years old. His father, who would have been Crown prince at this time, was killed in an air accident in 1947. Carl Gustaf may be one of the children you can glimpse in the background in the beginning.
