  • Description

    Petra, Jordan.

Various scenic shots of "biblical Jordan". L/S of several men on horseback moving through the countryside. The narrator speaks of an ancient city which once existed on top of a rocky peak. M/S of the horsemen (and a woman) riding towards the camera. Various shots of the explorers moving through the landscape. The woman seems to be a tourist, a local man leads her up the rocky landscapes. They reach the top of a high peak and the tour guide points out ancient ruins to the tourist.

Various shots of the ancient city ruins. Buildings seem to have been cut from the rock face itself. Camera tilts down to show a temple entrance. The woman and her guide walk up to the temple. Low angle shot of the architecture. Various shots of details and landscapes as the narrator recounts the history of the city.

Note: also in CP 022 - may be slightly different, check film. Other version seems to be longer.

See separate explanation record of CP 001: 'International Pictorials'.
