Animation featuring Jerry the Troublesome Tyke - a cartoon dog. A U.I.C. production.
Exterior of a "general store". The shopkeeper comes out and whistles through his fingers. Jerry comes running and stands on his nose. He spins on his nose. The shopkeeper says: "You mind the store and look out for thieves." "Trust me boss!" says Jerry. He flexes his muscles. Shopkeeper goes off, Jerry laughs and goes inside the shop. He chooses a place to lie down in front of the counter. Suddenly a piece of cheese gets up and dances around - he has arms and legs and a smiley face. The cheese throws a knife at Jerry (who is just lying there asleep minding his own business). The knife chops Jerry's head off (nice family viewing!) Jerry stands up without his head. A big question mark comes out of the hole in his neck. The cheese has a good laugh. Jerry puts his head back on and gets very annoyed with the cheese. The cheese runs behind the counter, Jerry picks up the knife and runs after him. Stars pop out from behind the counter (they are having a scrap.) They run outside, a chase ensues. Jerry stops by a sign which has an arrow pointing "To Nowhere" Jerry picks off the arrow and throws it like a javelin after the cheese. It spears the cheese. Jerry is very pleased with himself and laughs.
Jerry pulls out the arrow and slices the cheese in half. He bends the arrow and attaches it to the cheese to make it into a bike. He gets on it and rides off, it is like a little scooter. He looks a bit worried as he approaches a big sign which reads: "ROAD UP". There is flashing lights and Jerry is propelled into the sky (presumably he hit the sign). A weather cock is sitting there minding its own business.. Jerry flies through the air and grabs on to the weather vane. The weather cock looks down at Jerry, picks him up in his beak and flies along. Jerry struggles. Picture dissolves into a shot of Jerry struggling as he is held aloft by the shopkeeper. He says: "Next time you mind the store - Don't Go To Sleep" The last four words are punctuated by the shopkeeper punching Jerry on the nose. Jerry flies out of the shop and lands flat on his back. A small planet revolves around his head (rather than stars!)
