Animation. Curtains open to reveal "Jerry the Troublesome Tyke" with speech bubble: "Hold on a minute - I'm next!". Then title card comes up. U.I.C. production.
Cartoon drawing of a birthday cake. Live action of cartoonist (Sid Griffiths) sitting down at his drawing board. He looks at the cartoon and says: "I never drew THAT!". Cake turns into Jerry holding a sign that says "Many happy returns". Cut to artist, Intertitle reads: "Thanks very much, but it's not MY birthday!". Jerry throws away the sign and says, "No, but it is going to be mine!". Artist talks to the cartoon: "What do you want for a birthday present?". Jerry thinks about it and decides that he wants a gramophone.
Artist draws him a gramophone. Jerry goes over and cranks the record player up. C/U of the record. Label reads: "Pathe Record. "Let's All Go To Jerry-Co". Dog-Trot". Turntable turns, needle put on to record and cartoon notes come out of the gramophone horn. Jerry has a boogie with a big smile on his face. Artist draws him a stickman friend to dance with. Groovy dancing ensues until suddenly the gramophone blows up. The postman arrives and Jerry sees what he thinks are two birthday cards on the floor. One turns out to be a note which reads: "Dear Jerry, what about that Five Bob you borrowed". He chucks it on the floor. The other reads: "When is your Birthday? If you would know your future consult Zodiac the Great Seer". Jerry slides under his front door. Intertitle reads: "See Jerry Next Week seeing the Seer".
