Animation featuring Jerry the Troublesome Tyke - a cartoon dog. A cartoon curtain rises. A U.I.C. production.
Sid Griffiths the cartoon artist opens a window in his studio. He sits down at his drawing board and sees that Jerry is cold. He is warming his hands beside a little heater. He shivers and says "Shud thad window - I've got ad awful cold!!" Sid says "Fresh air's healthy." Jerry looks cross and paces back and forth waving his arms about trying to warm himself up. He pulls out a handkerchief and says: "Look oud! I'b going to sdeeze!!" Sid tries to move out of the way. Jerry sneezes. "Here id is - !" says Jerry. "A - A - A - TCHOO" - as he sneezes he falls forward. Sid tries to move out of the way - or is forced backwards by the tremendous power of Jerry's sneeze! Sid wags his finger at his canine friend. "What you need is fresh air and plenty of sunshine." Jerry agrees. He goes out and notices a sign for holidays to Egypt. "Where the Sun Always Shines - Cheap tours to Egypt by Cookem's Ltd." the sign reads.
"That's the place for me!!" announces Jerry. He climbs into the poster and finds himself in the sunshine. "Shine your hardest, sol, I've got to cure a cold! The sun makes the effort to shine more. Sweat starts pouring out of Jerry. "Hooray!! My Cold's Gone!!! he shouts. He walks along and says "Whew! It's hot! Wish I could find a shady tree!" He sees an oasis and walks towards it. He sits on a rock but it suddenly moves and turns into an Egyptian man riding a camel. Jerry looks shocked. Jerry runs off and the Egyptian chases him - wielding a very large knife. Jerry finds himself back on the poster. He climbs out and lets the man ride past. Jerry sighs with relief: "I lost one cold, and nearly caught another!" He laughs. The End.
Was an item in Pathe Pictorial, issue number unknown. Note: interesting mixture of real footage and animation. Can EP313 was originally mislabelled as EP382.
