We hear Prince Charles (Prince of Wales) talking about his forth coming investiture ceremony at Carnarvon Castle, Wales.

    Various shots crowds watching Royal procession entering castle. L/S Prince of Wales' flag unfurling, pan down to show rest of castle. Various shots parade passing crowds.

    Various shots procession entering inner courtyard of castle. The procession passes more crowds inside the castle enclosure. Good shots Prince Charles in military uniform passing crowds.

    Various shots Royal carriage passing through town, Queen Elizabeth II, Duke of Edinburgh (Prince Philip) and Princess Anne wave to crowds. More shots castle courtyard. Various shots Prince Charles entering Chamberlain tower (part of traditional ceremony). Various shots Queen and Duke walking through courtyard, passing crowds and heading towards platform. The Queen and Duke sit on thrones on large slate platform. Various L/Ss people inside castle grounds standing for national anthem. C/U Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon.     Queen gives command to Earl Marshal who sends Garter King of Arms to summon the Prince from Chamberlain Tower. L/S tower. Various shots crowds watching. Prince walking out of tower. L/S crowd of dignitaries. Prince walks towards platform, followed by three men in robes. The Prince kneels in front of his mother. Various C/Us of the men in robes, each one holds a cushion. On the cushions are the Prince of Wales' crown, ring and sword. The Queen places the sword over the Prince's head. L/S crowd. She then gives him the ring and sceptre. We hear the Secretary of State of Wales reads proclamation in Welsh. The Queen then puts an ermine cloak on the Prince and fastens it. M/S Princess Anne and the Queen Mother watching. Natural sound of Charles swearing oath of allegiance to the Queen. The Queen clasps her sons hands, when he finishes talk, she kisses him on the cheek.

    Various shots Duke and Queen escorting Prince to greet the people. L/S Royal buglers playing fanfare on parapets. L/S crowds outside the castle cheering and waving Welsh and British flags, pan to Queen, Duke and Prince walking onto castle balcony. They wave at people below before leaving the balcony. Various shots procession of Royal family walking through grounds, the crowds applaud them. The Prince and Queen pose for cameras, the Queen holds the Prince's hands. Good C/Us of Prince and Queen. More shots Royals leaving the castle. Various shots Queen, Duke, Anne and Charles getting into carriage. Various shots carriage driving through crowd lined streets of Carnarvon (Caernarfon).
