    California, United States of America.

Various shots show United States troops in training. They climb down some webbing over scaffolding that represents the side of a ship and make their way to the shore of a lake in boats. On the shore, the men inflate their rubber dinghies and carry them through forest land to another stretch of water. Once the boats are launched and the soldiers are on their way, explosions throw up water around them to get the men used to shellfire. The men reach the shore and run off into the forests.

Note: old database records put location as 'somewhere in Northern Ireland' but commentator clearly states these manoeuvres are in California.
